Resign.
What comes to your mind when you hear that word??
For a company that still needs you to work, it could be a threat. It will hold you to stay, or even increase your salary as a compensation.
If the reason of your resignation is to earn more money at a new place, you'd probably accept the compensation of your current company and stay, but if your reason is about to having a better future, better working environment, expanding your experiences, skill and the other x factors that only you and God know, you will directly state your resignation letter and pass it on to your boss.
It's different case when you want to resign but you have no idea where to work afterward. The reason could be anything, it could be not about how much money you earn, how much experience you gain, or how the environment it is. Lemme tell you a case: if people constantly reject or dislike your ideas or your offer, then why not resign??
If you're good at your job, you're right for the job, your company will reject your resignation.
But if the company accept your resignation, you are in the wrong job and it's better for you to move out.
